I am no stranger to the controversy surrounding the Robertson clan. However I am a young Christian mother that finds it rather difficult to find good wholesome television programs to watch with my family these days. The relationships shared through out this show is a direct reflection of their faith and love for family. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Mrs. Kay Robertson.  I am very impressed by her and feel she is a great remodel for women and young girls alike. I understand everyone is entitled to their own opion and many question those opions of the matriarch of this now famous family but it is not my place to do so. So I won't. Regardless The Women of Duck Commander is a wonderfully delightful collection of beautifully written family stories. A great read for anytime. Carmex has always been my main lip balm choice during the winter. Mainly because it is amazing at protecting my lips from the cold weather but also because it does a great job at healing dry or cracked lips. I have grown to like the Carmex Moisture Plus over time. DIY Family Project

What is a better way to bond with your children then to work together on a project for the home. Not only does it give your children a sense of accomplishment but it provides a priceless memory you will share with them for the rest of your life. I am a firm believer you only have your children for a short period of time. There are limited years where your children want you around and apart of their everyday routine. After that we as parents will spend limitless hours and long efforts trying to be apart of that life we once took for granted. Live every moment with your children in the now. Spoil them with your attention and love. Nothing is more important.

Discovery of the Week

I have always loved having a house full of wonderful smelling aroma. I have been a fan of Candleberry Company & Yankee Candles in the past but grew tired of the same options and over priced cost. Cajun to my Core

It is no secret that I am a cajun through and through! Or that I absolutely love Paula Deen! Combine the two and you have a recipe to die for. Considering my husband loves shrimp and has never turned down one cajun dish I've made in the past ten years I figured this would be a win/win. I was so right! This is packed full of flavor from the tangy first bite to the spicy kick at the end! Such an easy make not to mention the no mess clean up! Also these are amazing on a traditional Po'Boy. One of my FAVES

One of my favorite morning routines is my Good Morning Green Smoothie. I found this recipe on Paula Dean's website about a year ago. I had never drank kale before and needless to say was a little nervous about it. Lol Fast-forward and it has truly become a staple in my diet. Pop for the Red, White & Blue!!!

I found this recipe on  http://www.superhealthykids.com/healthy-kids-recipes/us-flag-fun-food.php. These sweet amazing patriotic pops are so easy and fun to make. Not to mention a great addition to your 4th of July barbecue. 1.)You start off with a 1/2 Tbsp of chopped strawberries and pour them into the bottom of your popsicle mold. Fill the mold with water until the strawberries are just covered. Freeze for one hour. 2.)Then pour 1/2 Tbsp of your favorite vanilla yogurt into your mold. (Now place stick in your Popsicle mold) Freeze for one hour. 3.)Next repeat steps 1 & 2. 4.)Finally pour 1/2 Tbsp of blueberries in your Popsicle mold and pour water on top of them until they are just covered. Freeze for an hour. All that's left to do is enjoy this refreshing healthy kid friendly treat! Note: Kids love to help out with these.

Discovery of the Week

I was pleasantly surprised the other night...while I was channel surfing I discovered that after 10pm Nickelodeon turns into nickmom. Honestly it takes me back to a time and place where television was good and wholesome. Of course thinking that I'm am the Columbus of my error I decided to eagerly share the news with my girlfriends. Which I was very quickly informed that I was the one out of the loop. Lol Regardless it is a wonderful lineup of great television to enjoy while pampering yourself or simply relaxing before going to bed. I would especially check out Friday's lineup featuring standup comedians that are moms. I can't tell you the last time I laughed that hard. Watch and enjoy from one mom to another.

What is your beauty regimen??? One of my favorite parts of my beauty regimen is the St. Ives Timeless Skin Mineral Clay Firming Mask! Every Wednesday night I take a bubble bath, wash my hair, apply my leave in conditioner treatment and then enjoy my own little vierson of a relaxing facial. This mask has kaolin clay which deep cleans while firming and tightening your skin. I love the fresh feeling of this mask. I have tried a lot of different products but this one I came across in Kyle Richards book Life Is Not A Reality Show. I looked for it in many different stores and unfortunately I could not find it. I did have to order it online but it was very affordable. Sometimes when you are a busy woman you need a quick refresh. This is an easy and affordable way to boost your self-esteem as well as giving your self a refreshed look.

Book of the Month

There is no secret that I'm a huge fan of the reality TV shows about housewives. One of my favorite is the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Kyle Richards featured on the show from it's start is one of my favorite housewives of all time. I really respect her as a mother, businesswoman and humanitarian. I love how devoted she is to raising awareness and funds for cancer research. All in all I just think that she is a great role model for women of all ages. I would definitely recommend reading her book Life Is Not A Reality Show not only for the great style and beauty tips but also because this woman has gained wisdom through her journey raiseing four kids in a life of chaos. She shares some amazing life lessons and truly gives great advice. A must read for me.

Let's talk fashion...I was introduced to Stella & Dot by one of the Moms at my daughters school. She's an amazing woman by the way not to mention a great stylist for the company. After speaking with her and looking through their catalog I was absolutely blown away by the stunning and high quality statement pieces offered by Stella & Dot.
